Hello everyone, welcome back to EE, this time I'd like to tell you about the New SR-2 XHD Prime of which photos I've taken in Bandung, spesifically at Citra Karya Pranata which is a Mercy dealer in there.
I guess you may have known that there's a clear difference between the /facelift minor change of the SR-2 XHD Prime (called S-Series) and the pre-facelift SR-2 XHD Prime eventhough they have been built to suit to the ECE R66 regulation and even maybe the ECE R80 too.
However, after I checked out those photos and compared to my old photos, there are some differences between the pre-facelift one which was introduced at GIIAS 2018 and the facelift/minor change one. What are those? As comparison there are two objects in which Sudiro Tungga Jaya as the pre-facelift one and Siliwangi Antar Nusa as the facelift one.
The first and the clearest difference: The boomerang-look shawl, where the pre-facelift one connects with the body while the facelift one is separated from the body but connected to the cap. The pre-facelift one has 'Legacy' emboss with chrome on both sides while the facelift one doesn't have but a chrome on the edge. The pre-facelift one looks thicker than the facelift one too. In addition, if you look at the new one, from the shawl to the cap then to the shawl again, you'll find that It looks like a holder on the ferris wheel which we call Bianglala in Indonesia.
The next one is the front bumper. There are two differences if I compare these two which are the foglamp part and the niche on the facelift one's front bumper but if I compare to the SR-2 Transporter Bus and SR-2 Suite Class, there'll only be one which is a niche on the front bumper.
The last one spotted is on the rear, eventhough I don't know if this is a custom request or the ori one, exactly at the top part. Yes, the HMSL or High Mount Stop Lamp position. The old one has HMSL (both parking light and brakelight) behind the rear window which won't too clear to see in the rain, meanwhile the new one has them right at the rear spoiler (I call it a ducktail) so It shoulda been clear to see eventhough in the rain.
